Skiathos is a charming, cosmopolitan island in the Aegean Sea, mostly famous for its wonderful sandy beaches, the green nature and the vivid nightlife, especially in the streets of Skiathos Town. The southern side of the island hosts a large number of golden beaches, such as Koukounaries, Banana, Vromolimnos, Agia Paraskevi, and more. Most of these beaches are organized with sunbeds, umbrellas, water sports centers, restaurants and beach bars. The beaches on the northern side of Skiathos island, including Aselinos and Xanemo, are less popular and offer more privacy.
Not to miss in Skiathos island is the boat trip to Lalaria Beach and the Medieval Castle. Such trips depart daily from the main town in summer and offer the most fantastic memories. Lalaria is a wonderful, white-pebbled beach with crystal water, while the Castle used to host the old Medieval Town of the island, which is ruined today. After a long day on the beach, in the evenings head to Skiathos Town to enjoy your dinner in the many traditional restaurants and a lounge drink in the quarter of Kastro.
